Enforcement of International Arbitration Awards and Collection of Damages

WAU’s panel on Enforcement of International Arbitration Awards and Collection of Damages will provide an insight on judicial practice in enforcement proceedings and how domestic courts understand and apply the provisions of international instruments on validity, recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards, such as the New York Convention (1958) and the Inter-American Convention (1979). This panel will feature a dialogue among international arbitration attorneys of civil and common law jurisdictions that will focus on: Advantages and disadvantages of different jurisdictions as seat of arbitration. The practical steps and requirements in order to enforce and collect an international arbitration award in Japan, Panama, Singapore, New York and Ukraine The strategic approaches to the tracing of assets and their collection in multiple jurisdictions.
